There has never been a more exhilarating time to be an innovator in retail technology. We were one of only a handful of companies selected to present at the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) Technology Showcase to discuss our end-to-end, scan and go solution last week.
After our presentation, key retailers participated in a panel discussion to share their thoughts, and we were blown away by the positive responses from leaders in the convenience industry.
“It took my breath away” – Graham Cooper, Today’s Group“Ubamarket was the best product of the day and I want it in my stores” – Raj Aggarwal, Retailer Owner, Spar Wigston“Ubamarket was the most exciting product we saw today” – Andrew Jackson, Rontec
There were plenty of insightful takeaways from the presenters but a stand-out point was from IDG’s Head of Retail, Guy Ousey, who shared his thoughts around the value customers place on their time and how their needs are not being met by current instore processes.
Guy discussed the fact that customers are spending an average of seven minutes in a convenience store – a long time if you’re just popping in for one item! Much of this hold-up is down to both an inefficient queuing and payment process system. Efficiency is important to the customer, particularly in convenience stores, with the demand for faster payment methods rising.
Our 2018 Retail Trends Report shows that in the UK 21.1 million people (41%) believe all payments will be done via mobile devices in the future, with the figures jumping to 53% among millennials. All signs indicate that now is the critical time for retailers to harness technology that provides their customers with a seamless shopping experience.
The great news is that retailers are listening, and we’ve had plenty of exciting interest as a result! Ubamarket is here to make convenience stores even more convenient and give retailers the competitive edge they need to keep up with evolving customer preferences for in-store experience and payment.
Ubamarket provides an end-to-end white label solution for retailers, from small convenience stores (under 3,000 sq ft) to large superstores (100,000 sq ft +).
