Ubamarket partners with Henderson Technology bringing in-store innovation to retailers and shoppers

We are proud to announce our innovative partnership with Henderson Technology, the award-winning Henderson Group company which is revolutionising retailer technology around the world. Ubamarket are delighted to announce our partnership with the Henderson Group and this is a very exciting time as retailers are starting to note the benefits of implanting retail tech in their stores. Henderson Technology has been supplying Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) systems since 1994 working with a range of supermarkets. It is currently the largest supplier of EPoS in Northern Ireland, with over 440 retail sites in the province using systems supplied by the company.

In a first for convenience retailing in Northern Ireland, our ‘scan, pay, go’ app will be integrated with their EDGEPoS system, which is installed in over 450 SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO, VIVOXTRA and VIVO Essentials stores throughout Northern Ireland.

This brand-new technology was trialled in a number of hand-picked sites initially, andwill soon be made available to the hundreds of retailers that use Henderson Technology’s EDGEPoS system in Northern Ireland and globally.

This partnership illustrates a huge leap forward for stores across Northern Ireland as this is the first of its kind. Shoppers will be able to experience the convenience that scan and go systems offers in their busy day to day lives, with a fuss-free, no queuing experience. Our in-app payments function means that people will be able to grab what they need and go and as a result, will want to continue returning to stores again and again. Existing Ubamarket research has found that 17.5 million consumers want in-app consolidation when they shop and this is exactly what we’ve delivered.

Additionally, this will be massively beneficial for retailers who are actively preserving their places in bricks and mortar stores in over 450 locations across Northern Ireland. This is showing how some of the bigger names in the industry are placing trust in retail tech whilst rescuing the current state of the high street. It is fantastic for Ubamarket to be championing this partnership with Henderson’s at a time when the benefits of retail tech are truly being commended and flourishing in 2019. We are going from strength to strength and are excited to see more retail tech being incorporated in stores across a wider range of locations. We couldn’t be happier to be developing our retail-tech journey in bricks and mortar stores with Hendersons and SPAR as the world’s biggest food retail chain, and we are excited for what the future holds.

The technology will be introduced to stores in the coming months, with the app available to download now from the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
